Charming atmosphere. Great views.

This is one of the best hotel experiences I had for a long time. Sitting at the open fire, reading a book and enjoying the charming atmosphere of the Stanley hotel.

Historic, majestic setting, very good food and service.

Our "classic queen" room, bath and walk-in closet were amply-sized. The hotel has a classic ambiance. Worth it especially for those looking for historic properties.

Beautiful historical hotel in a quaint location. Very romantic and easy access to parks
Noise from adjoining rooms was not expected. Bed was not the most comfortable.

Beautiful hotel. We choose it for the beauty and historical basis. The lobby is very nice and everything about the location is wonderful. We did have a bad experience with guests in the next room having an all night party which the staff did have to take care of after 2 calls to the desk. ...read more

A really historic hotel and the grounds are very beautiful.
A maintenance crew started hammering in a next room, too early in the morning (about 7:30 AM).

My wife and I are history buffs and because this is a historical hotel, it was perfect for us. Of course it doesn't have many of the bells and whistles of a modern hotel, but that's the point! It's architecture and history, it's well maintained grounds, and the fact that the place is also haunted, make this a truly remarkable place to stay! We'll definitely return again. ...read more

Gorgeous historic building.
The food, and the staff.

Beautiful hotel, claims to be haunted. The food is abysmal. Breakfast buffet was nearly $20 per person, potatoes were cold, rolls still partially frozen, coffee was mud. Just awful. Staff was rude to us, and to others we observed. ...read more

Historic and elegant. The ghost tours and ties to The Shining were great fun.

It was fun to stay at a hotel that is a destination in itself. The ghost tours and ties to The Shining were great fun.

The history of the hotel is remarkable.

The hotel is a neat and grand old place. The bed is so awful it would have been better if we'd just tried to sleep on the floor.
